While they all appear nice and shiny and are made with sturdy stainless steel to last a lifetime, my wife and I found the functionality of three of the pieces limited.Both spoons are surprising shallow and on the small side, so they hold very little.And in addition to the spatula being on the small side, it doesnt have any holes for draining things such as bacon fat, etc.Personally, we also didnt like the fact that the handles on all the pieces are indented which sends your thumb into a depression, instead of rounded handles which are more common.We are returning them for stainless steel pieces we found at Crate and Barrel that are similar in quality but have spoons that are slightly larger and deeper, spatulas with holes for drainage, rounded handles and all at half the cost. After reading the glowing reviews, we thought we would splurge and buy a really good set.
It follows the standard All Clad handle setup, so no hook on the end to hang off the edge of a stock pot.Spatula is a good size and works quite well.The fork, spoon, and slotted spoon are what you would expect.The lack of the most useful took - All Clad tongs is obviously there to force folks to shell out more cash. All Clad made in China utensils are very sturdy, heavy, high quality, and excellent. I use the fork and spoons a few times a year, so the most useful items in the set for me are the spatula, ladle, and utensil holder. I use the tongs for so many cooking chores - flipping, mixing stir fry, pulling noodles, etc. This set is the perfect match for All Clad stainless cookware, since there is no fear of damaging the pans. If your cookware is mostly non-stick or can be damaged, then these tools are useless.The ladle is far larger than I expected.
Not a big deal, but I wish it wasn't there. I agree that these utensils are well made. My only qualm is that "China" is etched on to the back of the fork utensil.
They certainly clean up easily and look great displayed. The spatula may be a bit too long. The only downside to this product is the weight and maybe the length of the spatula. All these tools weigh so much it may be impractical to use.
Amazon's price was hard to beat. We found the tool set to meet the high standards set by other All-Clad products.
